Mobile Phone Review: ZTE Grand S

A Chinese manufacturer ZTE is now looking to challenge the top-end of the smartphone market by releasing the ZTE Grand S, which is their latest flagship device.

ZTE are currently looking to launch their latest handset in China in a few month’s time which is also set for a global release although no exact date have been announced or the regions in this particular case.

The Grand S is part of ZTE’s top-end handset range such as the Grand X and the Grand Era, however the Grand S seems to be their main focal point.

What’s fascinating is the specification that comes with the ZTE Grand S which looks to be a blockbuster. The handset comes with a full HD5-inch display, 1.7GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 13MP camera, 4G connectivity and the latest Android Jelly Bean as this is all packed into a framework which is just 6.9mm thick.

The handset visually looks to fit into the smartphone market quite easily as ZTE has decided to wrap the handset in a polycarbonate shell which gives the phone a premium look as it also sits into your palm nicely thanks to its slightly curved back.

As standard the handset comes with a MicroSIM port which is located on the right hand side, covered by a flap. On the left hand side, ZTE has provided a MicroSD card slot if you wish to expand on the 6GB of internal storage that is already available.

1080p video playback display has almost become the must have feature for all new smartphones, as predicated ZTE have also joined the bandwagon. However it’s disappointed to find that the handset displayed faded colours and a lack of details as many other HD handsets seemed to display better quality playback.

However ZTE has promised its customers that the Grand S will provide excellent battery life much thanks to its power efficient Snapdragon S4 pro chip which is used to pull the strings behind the scenes.
