When the legal battle between Apple and Samsung started, Apple produced some court documents that contained early prototype designs of the iPhone and iPad which were inspired by Sony. Yesterday, it was Samsung’s turn to release some early concept designs.
First of all we’d like to tell you that Samsung’s early concept designs were lame and they’re not something to be super-excited about. Most of the images revealed are sliders there are three main categories to look at. These include the 2.5-inch Skin Slide, 2.7-inch Slide and the 2.9-inch Q Slide concepts.
Now you’re thinking what have these designs go to with the battle, well we can tell you the one of the designs were created before the iPhone was released. Samsung was considering putting the ‘Q bowl’ design to the market in the summer of 2006, six months before the unveiling of the iPhone. The ‘Q bowl’ eventually became the ‘Samsung F700’ which looks similar to the Galaxy S. Apple once included this design as an infringing product, but later withdrew it once it learned that Samsung created it and brought it to the market before the iPhone.
Nevertheless, the battle between Apple and Samsung will continue for weeks to come.
