HTC has already launched a few handsets including the HTC ChaCha and HTC Salsa which provided users with a quick way of jumping into the social network’s app with the press of a button but the dedicated Facebook button fell shy of satisfying people’s obsessive social networking needs.
According to Bloomberg West, an official Facebook Phone is set to arrive in the middle of next year, courtesy of Taiwanese manufacturer HTC.
There are currently no further details on the proposed handsets but expect the phone to come running the Android operating system (most likely Jelly Bean), with HTC’s Sense overlay which will see deep Facebook integration and features.
Maybe HTC is hoping that the backing of Facebook handsets will achieve a large number of sales, after slipping away from the likes of Samsung and Apple in the past six months or so.
We on the other hand are not completely convinced on the idea of a Facebook Phone, the free application on all other major operating system is enough to satisfy most people’s activities on the move, with the it also being integrating into the likes of our media apps including camera and contacts which allows for easier sharing 24/7.
Would you actually consider buying a Facebook Phone?
