ZTE the Chinese manufacturer says it is committed to establish its own brand as a dominant force in the mobile market with the new ZTE Grand X and has targets of becoming the third largest mobile manufacturer by the end of the year.
Having manufactured devices for other companies, ZTE only started selling smartphones under its own brand last year in the UK. ZTE says their new flagship smartphone, the ZTE Grand X will bring a high-end smartphone experience to a wider audience.
The ZTE Grand X comes with a 4.3-inch touch screen with a 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of memory that can be expanded to 32GB through a Micro SD card. It will have a 5-megapixel rear camera with a 0.3-megapixel front facing camera and will run on Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich.
The ZTE Grand X will come with Dolby Mobile Sound and will position the handset as an entertainment device. ZTE European vice president and head of Terminal Division, He Shiyou says,
“ZTE Grand X brings high-end mobile video and gaming within the reach of a whole new audience. It provides a world of entertainment in a single device – combining high quality and wide range of functions for a great mobile media experience.”
The ZTE Grand X will be available for £189.88 through Phones 4U and Virgin Media next month.
