To be a completely useful communication tool a mobile phone must be able to show an email to the user as and when required.

There are two type of emails services that a mobile phone may have. One is called pull mail and another is called a push mail. A pull mail is like it works on Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook. You have to press send and receive to get the email. In this service user have to pull the email by himself or herself.

A push mail is a service where as soon as email is received, it is displayed on the mobile screen of the user. The push mail service is offered by the mobile service provider which continuously searches for the email on the user’s email server and as soon as a email is received, it fetches the mail to the user’s account. The benefit of a push mail is that user don’t have to press a button like send and receive. The mail is pushed to the user as soon as it lands in the mail box.
